The Equine Therapy Program for Veterans is a powerhouse of healing, led by the incredible dynamic duo: Eagala Certified Therapist MaryAnn Brewer and Licensed Psychotherapist Micke Stafford. A special thank you goes to The SpectraCare Foundation for making this veterans equine program a reality!
This is not a cookie-cutter treatment. Before we even step into the arena, our therapists partner with each veteran to assess their unique needs and map out a custom, high-impact course of action tailored specifically for them.
Our extraordinary therapy squad includes five remarkable sanctuary horses—two of which are former racehorses and three resilient survivors rescued from slaughter kill pens. They’ve battled their own struggles and are now here to aid our heroes in overcoming theirs.
The results speak for themselves: While most participating veterans come to us battling PTSD, the breakthroughs happen at lightning speed. Just three sessions of equine therapy deliver the profound emotional healing equivalent to six whole months of traditional in-office therapy! By enhancing horse care sponsorship and support, we can continue providing this vital service to those who have served our country.
